报道说,今年新鲜木薯的价格为每公斤250瑞尔(约合6美分),比往年略涨。那些前去收购木薯的商家多以1公顷250美元至500美元的价格包购整块土地上的木薯,有的地块甚至达到1公顷600美元。
报道还说,在一些地方甚至出现抢购木薯的情况。前来收购木薯的国际商家大多来自韩国、越南和日本,他们往往比别的商家出价更高,大量收购木薯用作生产酒精和煤气的原料。
